The final day of Book Week (and International Women's Day too!)

Phew! What a week! We've all packed so much in this week, it feels more like a fortnight. We drew this year's celebration of books and reading to a close with a special worship this morning. After lots of careful consideration of some really imaginative, well-researched and designed bookmarks, the announcement of the Information Bookmark winners was made. Each winner (one in each year group) received a £5 book token to spend on a book for their own choice. Also, every child that had submitted an entry was also awarded a house point for their efforts.

Each class, also received a 'book gift' for their classroom library.

Every term I buy brand new books for each class to keep a stock of quality reading texts available to all the children. This term, in honour of our Book Week Theme for this year, Non-fiction - True Stories: Told Well along with it being International Women's Day today, each class received a non-fiction book that detailed the achievements of women.

We've loved celebrating books and reading this week, but please remember, books aren't just for Book Week.....Keep Reading!
