Thursday 18 December 2025 Carols Around The Christmas Tree It was wonderful to see parents, carers, family members and friends come together as a community around the school's Christmas tree for a festive sing-along. Everyone enjoyed singing Christmas carols and seasonal songs together, while warming up with delicious hot chocolates kindly provided by the school's fundraising committee. 🎄☕✨

Thursday 18 December 2025 Reveller's Festive Concert and Party On Sunday 14th December, several members of Wickhambreaux Orchestra teamed up with the Revellers community orchestra for an inspiring day of music-making, led by the brilliant David Burridge. The children had a fantastic time performing an exciting programme that included Pirates of the Caribbean, Pachelbel's Canon, Believer, and Stravinsky's dramatic Firebird. All the children enjoyed a Christmas party after all their musical playing. Well done to all the children that took part!

Thursday 11 December 2025 Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School Orchestra Musical Visit On Thursday 11th December 2025, we were delighted to welcome talented students from Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School to our school for a special musical performance. They treated us to a beautifully played selection of pieces from the much-loved film The Snowman. Their stunning instrumental and vocal work brought the magical story to life, captivating the children and creating a wonderfully festive atmosphere throughout the hall. It was a memorable experience that left everyone feeling inspired and full of Christmas cheer.

Friday 5 December 2025 Wickhambreaux Choir performed at the PWRR Carol Service On Wednesday, 3rd December, the Wickhambreaux Choir had the wonderful honour of performing alongside the brilliant PWRR Band in the magnificent setting of Canterbury Cathedral. Their voices rose beautifully through the historic space, filling the cathedral with festive spirit and creating a truly magical start to the season. Well done to all the children involved and we look forward to performing in the Cathedral again next year!

Saturday 15 November 2025 Singing Specialist Workshop On Friday 14th November, Mrs Brooks, Canterbury Cathedral's Singing Partnership Lead,joined the choral scholars to help our children prepare for the St Nicholas Carol Service on December 7th. Together, they led a lively and inspiring vocal workshop, filled with joyful singing, new techniques, and rich harmonies for everyone to explore.

Lucy spoke passionately about her wonderful books, including The Secret of Nightingale Wood and Sisters of the Lost Marsh, and shared how important it is to feed our imaginations through reading and storytelling.

Tuesday 7 October 2025 Harvest Festival 2025 On Friday 26th September Wickhambreaux School celebrated the Harvest festival. It was truly heart warming to see our church filled with parents, grandparents, and members of the local community, all coming together to celebrate Harvest. Our children sang with joy and their performances were a real highlight of the day. We were deeply moved by your incredible generosity in supporting Catching Lives. Thank you for making the celebration so special!

Monday 21 July 2025 Wickhambreaux High Tea On Wednesday 25th June, Wickhambreaux was filled with joy and celebration as we enjoyed a wonderful High Tea afternoon full of music, dancing, and community spirit. The event featured delightful performances, toe-tapping tunes, and plenty of smiles-accompanied by delicious cakes and plenty of tea! It was a truly heart-warming afternoon that brought everyone together to share the children's creativity, joy and celebration!

Monday 21 July 2025 Canterbury Great Big Summer Sing On Friday, 20th June, several children from Wickhambreaux joined voices with students from across the local area inside the awe-inspiring Canterbury Cathedral. This spectacular event, brought to life by Kent Music and the Cathedral was a full day immersed in the joy of singing featuring fun and dynamic vocal workshops. The day ended with a wonderful showcase where the children performed to their family and friends. It was a truly inspiring, uplifting and fun filled day! Well done to everyone that took part!

Friday 11 July 2025 Le Tour de Wickhambreaux 2025 Year 6 worked hard to prepare their jerseys for the much-anticipated Tour de Wickhambreaux, which took place on Thursday. The excitement was high as they took part in three fun and energetic races, showcasing teamwork and determination. Year 5 played an important role too, cheering them on enthusiastically and helping with the timing of each event. It was a lively and joyful afternoon, topped off perfectly with more delicious ice creams to celebrate a fantastic end to the day.

Friday 11 July 2025 Vente de glaces par nos ambassadeurs The children practised buying ice cream in their lessons before the real thing on Thursday! The language ambassadors set up ice cream shops and sold ice creams to the whole school — all in French! What fun it was, and a fantastic way to use their language skills in a real-life setting. The day continued with more excitement as everyone celebrated Le Tour de France in the afternoon, making it a memorable day filled with learning, fun, and French culture.

Thursday 10 July 2025 Better Reading Partnership Prize-Giving Celebration We had a wonderful time celebrating the achievements of all the 28 children who had worked so well with becoming even Better Readers over the past year at school. There was tea and cake to enjoy as the children all received a special certificate, a pre-loved book to keep and a party bag with goodies in. It was a lovely chance for our dedicated and specially trained Reading Volunteers to meet the parents and carers of the children they have worked with over the year and also a chance for us at the school to say thank you for all of the time and energy they have given us to support our readers. Our heartfelt thanks go to Mrs Robson, Mrs Mathers, Mrs Lucas, Mrs Harmsworth and Mrs Jones - we couldn't do it without you!

Tuesday 8 July 2025 Canterbury Medieval Pageant 2025 On Saturday, July 5th, several students from Wickhambreaux Primary School took part in Canterbury's vibrant Medieval Pageant Parade. With drums in hand and smiles on their faces, the children added dynamic rhythms to the event, filling the streets of Canterbury with their energetic drumming. Well done to all the children involved.

Monday 7 July 2025 Kickback and Read 2025 When the weather is sweltering hot, the best thing to do is just grab a book, something cold to eat or drink and find a shady spot to kickback and read...so that is just what we did! We had some upbeat summery music to help us feel the summer vibes and just enjoyed the soothing pleasures of reading with an ice lolly and a drink - absolute bliss!
