Swimming and Water Safety

Pupils should be taught to:

  • swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres
  • use a range of strokes effectively (for example front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke)
  • perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations

Out of the 21 pupils currently in year 6:

  • 3 pupil premium children have achieved 100% attainment in all 3 areas.

Of the remaining 18 pupils:

  • 95% of children have achieved 100% attainment in all 3 areas.
