On Friday the 11th of November, the children of Wickhambreaux walked in silence from the school to the memorial in the church, where the memorial service was held. Poppy wreaths were laid, one per class, each with a personal message to the soldiers who lost their lives in the war written by the children of the class.
“The Last Post,” was played beautifully by Samuel in Class 4, as was “Reveilli,” performed by George also in class 4.
After the service, members of the British Legion were kind enough to visit class 4 and answer questions from the pupils. The children asked a variety of appropriate questions and listened respectfully to the interesting responses given.
